The second World Sparrow Day


The second World Sparrow Day will be observed today (20 March 2010) to create awareness about the sharp decline in the number of sparrows, To focusing on raising awareness about the decline of the House Sparrow and throw light on the problems faced by the House Sparrow in its daily fight for survival.

World House Sparrow Day also celebrates the common biodiversity found in and around us and draws attention to its importance. So make–20th March 2010–a day to celebrate the common birds and biodiversity around you and raise a toast to the House Sparrow!

This year’s theme — Chirp for the Sparrow, Tweet for the Sparrow —

Last year, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit hosted the first World Sparrow Day. This year, the main event would be held at Wipro campus, Bengaluru.

The thinks we can do...

Make some artificial nest such as a pots, paper box (maid by board and if possible fill those box with straws) etc .. and put it in the terrace.. Sprinkle grains, dhals and rice and place plate or cup with water near the pots or paper box...


And save the small bird which is all most with us in all city's and villages and in the past decade disappearing from our eyes....
