The minds of the environmentalist and the wild life lover are happy when stick to the news of the population increase of tiger in Tamil Nadu especially in the western part in and around Coimbatore. The census also revealed that the living area of the jungle is constitutively reduced. when the territory of the tiger is reduced the man animal conflict increase. In the resent days the pug marks are commonly visible in and around Sirumugai, Coimbatore Dist. The camera traps too shoot a photo of tiger in Sirumugi. This shows the Territory of the tiger is reduced in Sathyamangalam in particular Thengumarada. The Govt. Should declare the Thengumarada area as Tiger reserve to take the at most care to protect the magnificent cat.

India Tiger census 2011 show 15% rise in population

In India the tiger counts at 1,706... In which there is an increase of 12% growth. According to the 2010 tiger census, there are approximately 1,706 of the big cats in the country, which includes about 70 in the marshes of the Sunderbans, which have never been scientifically surveyed before. The 2006 census had estimated that there were 1,411 tigers, without including any from the Sunderbans.

Thirty per cent of the tiger population lives in areas outside the government's reserve.

The sad fact is that Tiger living areas shrunk from 9 million hectares to less than 7.5 million hectares over the last four years, said Environment and Forests Minister Jairam Ramesh.

In the state wise data Madhya Pradesh has 213 and Andhra Pradesh has 65. These two states is the lowest compared to the other states the population is been reduced. And text comes the stable population in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgar, Jarkhand, Rajastan, Orisa, Mizoram, WestBengal and Kerala. The population is been increasing in Tamil Nadu, Mahastra, Uttatakhand, Assam and Karnataka...

The of tiger from 1411 to 1706 is not happy news for the wild life lowers but thing to be known is that the increase in the tiger population in a certain period and reduce in some time is not a permanent increase in tiger population. The increase in the year 2011 and if the next 2 decades results is also in the upper tend of increase in tiger population . Then its true that we are getting back the TIGERS..

The census orientation training will be held on 24th March at 9 AM at Bannari Forest Nursery Hall.

The second World Sparrow Day

The second World Sparrow Day will be observed today (20 March 2010) to create awareness about the sharp decline in the number of sparrows, To focusing on raising awareness about the decline of the House Sparrow and throw light on the problems faced by the House Sparrow in its daily fight for survival.

Make some artificial nest such as a pots, paper box (maid by board and if possible fill those box with straws) etc .. and put it in the terrace.. Sprinkle grains, dhals and rice and place plate or cup with water near the pots or paper box...

And save the small bird which is all most with us in all city's and villages and in the past decade disappearing from our eyes....
